Event Details

Ori Dagan and Karin Plato share a love of singing and swinging! Both are inspired by some of the world’s great vocal jazz artists: Sheila Jordan, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, and others. They also share a common love for the songs composed by Gershwin, Berlin, Jobim, Ellington and others.

Making his Vancouver debut, Toronto based Ori Dagan will share the stage with Vancouver based vocalist Karin Plato in “Theses Are a Few of Our Favourite Tunes” where they will sing duets and solo songs in an exciting program that will be engaging and heartwarming. You may hear an original song or two at the concert! Over the years Ori has composed wonderful original songs including “Viruses,” which netted him a Grand Prize at the Great American Songwriting Contest in 2022. George W. Harris of Jazz Weekly proclaimed: “Rare are the male singers these days who are just as clever with the pen as the vocal sword.”

“Her vocals are often beautifully understated, yet, with such an expert control of her instrument, she brings fresh readings of old standards and crafts her own intricate tunes with a delivery that sounds effortless.” Dianne Donovan – Voices in Jazz CKUA Radio Network

Ori and Karin are delighted to be joined by two of Vancouver’s finest jazz musicians for this concert: Chris Sigerson on the piano and Conrad Good on the bass.
