Lunar New Year is January 22 and to welcome the Year of the Rabbit, The City of Lougheed presents live performances, decorative displays, and lucky surprises.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 14 – LION DANCE CELEBRATION

Join us to welcome the Year of the Rabbit on Saturday, January 14 with a dance performance, Chinese calligraphy, a Lion Dance and blessing in the centre.

1 PM – Dance performances from Vancouver Beauty Dance World

2 PM – Lion Dance and blessings

COLOURS OF CELEBRATION

Walk through our Colours of Celebration with ribbons of bright and festive colours cascading from the skylights. Located on the upper level across from Starbucks.

TUNNEL OF GOOD FORTUNE

Find your way through our lantern tunnel for good fortune in the new year. Located on the lower level in front of London Drugs.

LUCKY STAIRWAY

Step into the new year with a lucky photo op at our stairway mural. Located on the south east side of the centre, near the entrance.

WISHING TREES

Make a wish for the new year at our wishing trees. Located on the upper level east side, near Great Wall Tea.

LUCKY RED ENVELOPES

Receive a lucky red envelope from The City of Lougheed! Visit Guest Services with a proof of purchase (minimum $8) from the Shopping Centre from January 13 – 22 (or while supplies last) to receive a lucky red envelope. All lucky red envelopes will have a gold chocolate coin from Purdy’s Chocolatier and extra lucky red envelopes will contain a The City of Lougheed Gift Card voucher (ranging from $8-$88). Maximum one lucky red envelope per guest.
