To usher in the 2020 Lunar New Year, Metropolis at Metrotown will be hosting over 2 weeks of family-friendly festivities along with a popular Instagram-worthy lantern display. Starting Friday, January 24, Metropolis at Metrotown’s Grand Court will be the home to 388 red lanterns, great for taking photos with your family & friends! Each weekend, Metropolis will be hosting a series of activities including traditional & modern Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean dance performances, live music performances, papercraft & cookie decorating workshops, fortune-telling workshops & consultations, and Travel through Asia photo booth.

Lunar New Year isn’t complete without a traditional lion dance on January 29th, arriving in Grand Court at 10 am and proceeding through the mall to provide the stores with its lucky blessings.
With a Spin to Win promotion when you spend $188 or more shopping, as well as weekly Instagram and Facebook contests, visitors to Metropolis will have various opportunities to win a prize from some of the shopping centre’s retail stores. From January 24 – February 9, visitors to the exhibit can also enter at Grand Court for a chance to win a $1000 Metropolis shopping spree.
