This is one of 3 micro-events held as part of the Burnaby Blooms Festival.

Join in on the fun with ecological-themed activities and demonstrations along with free entertainment.

Location: Central Park (lower pond)

Activities
Some activities require pre-registration ($5 registration fee applies). 

  • 10-11 am & 11:30 am-12:30 pm: Heighten Your Hiking Skills (Pre-registration required)
  • 10-11 am & 12-1 pm: Make a Felted Wool Creature with Maddy (Pre-registration required)
  • 10 am-12 pm: Discover Burnaby’s Secret Forest Walk with Utta from the Cariboo Heights Forest Preservation Society (offsite) (Pre-registration required)
  • 10 am-4 pm: Plant a Pot with Seeds to Grow at Home!
  • 10 am-4 pm: Help Plant an Eco-Sculpture! with City of Burnaby Horticulture Staff
  • 10:30-11 am, 11:30 am-12 pm, 1:30-2 pm & 2:30-3 pm: Make Your Own Terrarium Jars with City of Burnaby Horticulture Staff
  • 10:30 am-12 pm: Floral Painting En Plein Air with Natalie Robinson (Pre-registration required)
  • 12:45-2:15 pm: Trail Blazers
  • 1-2:30 pm: Fantastical Forests Nature Walk with the Stanley Park Ecological Society (Pre-registration required)
  • 2-3:30 pm: Touch of Spring – Ikenobo Ikebana with Cecily Chang (Pre-registration required)
  • 2-4 pm: Grow Your Own Food – Naturally! with Amanda Jarrett

Entertainment

  • 10-10:45 am & 11-11:45 am: Classics of the 60s-80s on Acoustic Guitar with Alastair McMurray
  • 12-12:45 pm & 1-1:45 pm: Roma Melodies inspired by Jazz and World Music with the Lache Cercel Trio
  • 2-2:45 pm & 3-3:45 pm: Roma-infused Funky Jazz and Pop on clarinet and accordion with Teapot in the Tuba
