Look out for these vending machines when you’re en route!
Burquitlam, Moody Centre, Lafarge, and Coquitlam Centre Stations
Sushi Mori is a Coquitlam-based Japanese fusion eatery. Their vending machines feature 12 items, including sushi, salads, and Asian teas. (Crunch roll, Wave roll, Chicken roll and Bul-Dak Chicken are just a few of the options you’ll find inside!)
Sushi Mori owner Ryan Kim says that so far they’ve been receiving great reviews on their convenient on-the-go options.
“I believe that everyone deserves access to quality, fresh sushi even on the go. Every morning, our sushi is prepared from the finest ingredients. With Wave Bento, you’ll never have to compromise between convenience and quality again!”
Joyce-Collingwood Station and Metrotown (inside mall)
Khaykery Bakery is a local Filipino-owned bakeshop that’s best known for their Silvanas. If you’ve never had one, you’re in a for a treat! Silvanas are a Filipino frozen dessert sandwich, which is similar to a macaroon, made of two cashew-meringue wafers filled with buttercream and dusted with nut- and cookie-flavored crumbs.
The first automated silvanas machine was placed inside Metrotown mall, directly accessible from Metrotown station and has been doing well for over a year, according to Khakery-owner Aimee Nagasan.
“We are just so grateful for all the support that we have been receiving and we feel proud that we are able to share a part of our culture with others.”
Watch out for the Nicli Antica vending machine coming to the Lonsdale Quay SeaBus terminal in 2024.
