What happens when an artist faces the big “C” diagnosis with a new baby boy? Dance/theatre piece Chapter 21, choreographed by Starr Muranko and directed by Yvette Nolan, explores 21 days between treatments, and 21 days to re-pattern courage, faith and resilience.

Unforgotten – My Journey Home
Presented with the support of the BC Métis Federation, this solo photographic exhibition by Dawna Mueller explores the power of images in relation to memory, history and ancestry. Each of the large format analog black and white photos has been created using multiple exposures, drawing a crossroad between reality and recollection.
Opening reception is on March 4, running until March 29, 2023

Through the Lattice: Tour and Poetry Reading
One of the most striking shows we’ve seen in 2023 so far, Through the Lattice, speaks to the central importance of the built world- as a realm of imaginative dreaming or as the staging ground for relations between society, culture, and the environment. This evening of dialog and poetry expands on those themes with a tour from Assistant Curator Rhys Edwards and exhibiting artist and architect Tiffany Shaw. Afterwards, local poet and Kwantlen Polytechnic University faculty member Dr. Dale Tracy will read from a chapbook commissioned in response to the displayed artworks.

Sharyl Boyle: Outside the Palace of Me
Canadian visual artist and performer Shary Boyle takes you on an imaginative, multi-sensory ride using costume, character, set design and stage effects. Inspired by the lyrics of the song “Europe Is Lost” by UK poet Kae Tempest, Outside the Palace of Me features drawings, ceramic sculpture, life-sized automatons, two-way mirrors, coin-operated sculpture and an interactive score.

Surrey Art Gallery: From the Surrey Central Skytrain station, you can take the R1 Newton Exchange bus to King George Blvd and 88th Ave. It’s about a ten-minute walk from there!
Adele Campbell Fine Art: There are several shuttles you can take to Whistler from Vancouver. For instance, there is one that leaves from the River Rock Casino in Richmond, which you can get to by taking the Canada Line train to Bridgeport Station.
Vancouver Art Gallery: It’s a 5-minute walk (or less) from the Vancouver City Centre Canada Line station
Pendulum Gallery: From Vancouver City Centre Canada Line station, walk a few blocks East on Georga street
Civic Gallery at The Township of Langley Civic Center: From Surrey Central Station, take the #501 Langley Centre bus, and exit at Willoughby Way
The Gallery at Queen’s Park: Take the Skytrain to 22nd St. Station, and catch the #155 Braid Station via Hospital bus to 1st. Street. It’s about a ten-minute walk from there!
