It is summer in BC, and that means one thing- sampling ice-cold craft beers. Luckily for you, Burnaby has three diverse breweries that offer a large variety of styles! Whether your preference is for a hoppy lager, smooth IPA or a fruity summer sipper Burnaby’s breweries will hit the spot.
1. Studio Brewing
Brand new to Burnaby’s craft beer scene, Studio Brewing offers a different experience each time you visit. Borrowing influences from France and Belgium, Studio Brewing prides itself on having a creative and experimental lineup. The brewery invokes an image of a simpler time with a minimalistic interior and cans that feature colour blocking, daisies, and a 70’s typeface.

We recommend: Daisy Chain- a fruity Saison, perfect for a patio.
2. Dageraad Brewing
Do not let the industrial park this brewery is in fool you- if you are looking for consistently good beer that reminds you of a European vacation, Dageraad will not disappoint. Named 2018 Brewery of the Year by Canadian Brewing Awards, Dageraad produces Belgium-style beer with a local punch. Visiting their 50 seat tasting room will always lead to discovering your new favourite drink, with a changing seasonal and partnership menu and a significant emphasis on properly enjoying their beer.

We Recommend: Burnabarian- it is named after us- and is a classic, smooth Belgium wheat beer
3. Steamworks Brewery and Taproom
While many know Steamworks Brewing as a Vancouver-based restaurant, Burnaby is home to their brewery and taproom. Steamworks is one of the original breweries in BC’s craft brewing scene, and to this day, they make delicious steam brewed beer. Don’t forget to BYOG- bring your own grub.
Location: 3845 William Street. This location is not transit accessible.
We Recommend: Hazy IPA- 2020 award winner from BC Craft Beer awards; this beer is tropical and fruity with a strong hop flavour.
