How Sport Burnaby Can Help
Whether it’s one championship game or a week-long tournament, Burnaby has the facilities, professional expertise and community partnerships to help deliver successful sport events. Sport Burnaby is Tourism Burnaby’s sport hosting office providing dedicated support for sport event partners from the starting block to the finish line. Here’s what we do:
- We provide hosting grants to help meet the needs and scope of your event
- We help connect organizers with the venues.
- We liaise with the City of Burnaby community stakeholders, accommodation providers and local event industry vendors.
- We help communicate and let everyone know about your event in Burnaby.
- We support you in sourcing local volunteers.
- We help make your event a success in Burnaby – the Sport City.
About Our Grant Application Process
Our grant support program helps sport event organizers host their event in Burnaby. This financial support assists organizers who chose to stage their event using facilities and services in Burnaby – the Sport City.
Successful applications depend on total number of room nights generated by the event, the level of competition, economic impact, tourism benefits and the ability of the event to leave a legacy in Burnaby.
Grant allocations depend on available funding in the annual Sport Burnaby budget, so submitting an application doesn’t necessarily mean funding will be granted.
Please submit your Sport Burnaby Grant application a minimum of three months before your event dates, and review the Sport Burnaby Grant Guidelines below before applying.
