Executive Director Update
Bite of Burnaby, our annual food festival was a massive success this year with a whopping 51 restaurants on board, showcasing the very best of Burnaby’s culinary scene.
In other news, our Meetings & Events team has been hard at work securing some exciting new events for Burnaby. We have some amazing conferences and conventions lined up for the coming months that are sure to showcase all that our city has to offer. Be sure to check out the partner opportunities below. The Sport Burnaby team has been equally busy securing some brand-new events for 2023.
Lucy Hagos, our new Special Event Manager
Finally, our board is in the final stages of adding four new board members representing Sport, Retail, Restaurants, and Post-Secondary Education in Burnaby. We look forward to announcing our new slate at the AGM in May, and to begin the process of developing our new 5-year plan. This increased diversity and integration of more community partners will ensure that Burnaby continues to develop its reputation as a premier destination, while also serving the needs of our stakeholders and rightsholders in community.
We are thrilled to announce that we have a new addition to our team, Lucy Hagos! Lucy has joined us as our new Special Event Manager and brings a wealth of experience in planning and executing events of all sizes. She is an energetic, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors. She’ll be handling the operations and partner outreach on our signature events like the Pat Quinn Classic, Bite of Burnaby and the Burnaby Halloween Festival. Additionally, she’ll be working with some of our partners like the Burnaby Drum Festival and Burnaby Pride to lend her unique expertise in the area of event production. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the great events she will produce.
