Mall Highlight: Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby

Like its moniker would suggest, Metropolis at Metrotown is a destination unto itself, three sprawling levels of shopping, entertainment, and dining experiences.

It’s BC’s largest shopping centre, and the third-largest in all of Canada, with nearly 330 stores to browse through, including national giants like the Bay, SportChek and Indigo Books and Music. A couple of the mall’s newest arrivals are Bailey Nelson for that stylish pair of eyewear at prices you won’t blink at, and Just Cozy, womens’ clothing whose name says it all.

 

But Metropolis is so much more than shopping. Catch all the latest blockbusters on the big screen with the latest in immersive sound at Silver City by Cineplex. Bring the kids and your unbounded creativity and take home a one-of-a-kind furry friend at the Build-A-Bear workshop.

The Grand Court on the main level of the mall is always a hub of seasonal fun, including the arrival this month of the The North Star Experience, a magical “train ride” through the Canadian wilderness brought to life through 3D projection and sound.
