July 8 – Pride Community BBQ

Kicking off the Pride season in Burnaby is the Burnaby Pride Community BBQ, an event exclusively designed for 2SLGBTQIA+ families and individuals. Join Burnaby Pride on Saturday, July 8 from noon to 3 p.m. at Keswick Park.

The Burnaby Firefighters will be on hand, cooking up a delicious array of hot dogs (with meat, veggie and Halal options), they’ll also have chips and pop on offer too.

Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, cozy picnic blankets, and stay hydrated with water, as we celebrate under the open skies. July 11 – Steamworks Pride

Get ready for an unforgettable night of fun, entertainment, and celebration at Steamworks Brewery & Taproom in Burnaby. On July 11, Steamworks is hosting a pride-themed trivia night in collaboration with IQ 2000 Trivia, Vancouver’s premier trivia night organizer. This exciting event promises an evening filled with friendly competition, a dazzling drag performance by DeeDee LaCraze. Known for her charisma, impeccable style, and captivating stage presence, DeeDee LaCraze is sure to deliver an unforgettable show.

Steamworks Brewery & Taproom encourages attendees to express their vibrant, bold, and authentic selves by embracing the “loudest pride look” competition. Show off your creativity and individuality by dressing up in your most eye-catching and prideful ensemble. Whether it’s a dazzling rainbow-inspired outfit, glamorous makeup, or extravagant accessories, let your true colors shine. In the spirit of Pride Month and fostering a more inclusive society, Steamworks Brewery & Taproom will be donating $1 from every 16oz or 20oz beer sold from July 10 to 16 to PFLAG. The event will feature a diverse lineup of live music, comedy, drag performers, interactive booths, activities and more. It promises to be a spectacular showcase of 2SLGBTQIA+ pride, featuring performances by renowned drag artists, including the iconic Batty BanksBeardney Spears, and King Fisher. With its picturesque setting and a lineup of incredible acts, the Burnaby Pride Festival at Civic Square is set to be an unforgettable day of joy, acceptance, and unity.

Beyond the remarkable drag performances, the Burnaby Pride Festival at Civic Square is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the rich diversity that makes Burnaby so special.

Catering specifically to the younger LGBTQ+ community, the Youth Pride Movie Night offers a safe and inclusive space for ages 13-18. This event screens the movie “Love Simon,” a heartwarming coming-of-age story that explores identity, friendship, and love. The movie night aims to create a supportive environment where young individuals can connect, gain inspiration, and feel empowered.
