Be afraid. Be very afraid.
But only if that’s your thing. And if it is, then ooh boy, you’re in luck in Burnaby this October with plenty of spectacular spooks in the scariest of seasons.
First up in our feast of freights is Eerie Illusions at the Burnaby Village Museum. This immersive experience will involve state-of-the-art lighting, projections, soundscapes and special effects, all to transform the Museum’s 10-acres into a 1920’s era village haunted by talking crows, invisible bands and photo-bombing ghouls. It’s a self-guided tour into the unruly unknown, with a surefire bet on fun for the whole family.
Eerie Illusions runs from October 22 right up until the big night, and you can purchase your advance tickets right here.
Garden of Horror
On October 25, Halloween descends like a sceptre upon Metropolis at Metrotown. Traipse through the grounds of the Garden of Horror and stop — if you dare — for some spooky photo ops against a boo-tacular background! It’s a safe and fun way to get into the spirit, with daily giveaways and treats for all. Find it in the Grand Court, from 2 to 6 pm until the 31st.
SFU Night at the Museum
Not to be outdone, that haunted mansion way up on the hill gets into the act as well at SFU’s Night at the Museum. Wander through all things strange and spooky, beside the things that lurk in the shadows and visits from ghastly creatures courtesy of SFU Biology. Brave souls will go home with their very own shadow puppet creation and a complimentary bag o’ candy.
This unique opportunity to learn while you laugh runs from October 26 to 28, from 3 to 6 pm. You can register for your time slot here.
