Burnaby Blooms Returns For 2023

Spring is a time of rejuvenation and renewal, when nature comes alive in vibrant colors and fragrant scents. One event that perfectly captures the spirit of this season is Burnaby Blooms, a dazzling floral festival that will once again grace the city of Burnaby in May 2023.

WHERE & WHEN IS IT?

This amazing festival will take place at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and Deer Lake Park (6450 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 2J3). It’s easily reached by car – please note that there is limited free parking available. Buses also stop right outside­­ — you can plan your visit via the TransLink website. Burnaby Blooms will run from 11 am to 4 pm on May 13 & 14.

This year’s Burnaby Blooms also features a micro-event at Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area on May 27, where you can participate in activities and demonstrations while enjoying free entertainment.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Burnaby Blooms is a captivating floral wonderland that showcases an incredible array of blooms, transforming the city into a tapestry of colors and scents. The festival features meticulously curated gardens, stunning floral displays, and enchanting installations that will leave visitors awe-inspired. It also goes beyond being a visual spectacle by offering a range of educational workshops and demonstrations. These interactive sessions provide valuable insights into horticulture, gardening techniques, and floral arrangements. Traditional Korean Arts Performance, Dave Gibbons, The Don Bryan Show, Shadbolt Student Dance Performance featuring Salome Nieto, Chinese Classical Ribbon Dance, Smooth Saxophone with Ross Curran, Cosmo’s Clown Circus, and The Wilson-Gibbons Duo.

• All About Mushrooms – May 13 (11am – 12:30pm) & May 14 (11am – 12:30pm)
• Botanical Printmaking – May 13 (11:30am – 12:00pm, 12:30pm – 1:00pm, 2:00pm – 2:30pm, 3:00pm – 3:30pm)
• Create Large Paper Flowers – May 13 (12:00pm – 1:00pm) & May 14 (12:00pm – 1:00pm, 2:30pm – 3:30pm)
• Painting The Songbirds of Deer Lake – May 14 (11:00am – 1:00pm, 2:00pm – 4:00pm)
• Make a Fresh Pantsy Wreath – May 27 (11:15am – 12:00pm, 1:30pm – 2:15pm, 2:45pm – 3:30pm)
• Blooming Spring Lantern – May 27 (2:00pm – 4:00pm)

In addition to the event on May 13th and 14th, there will also be 2 micro-events in different parks around Burnaby, where you can participate in fun activities and demonstrations for all ages. Events will take place at:
