On Labour Day, the Burnaby Village Museum will host a day of exploring labour history with free admission. Activities include a Labour Scavenger Hunt throughout the site, screenings of the “Working People” documentary at Central Park Theatre, and interactive exhibits such as “Truths Not Often Told: Being South Asian in Burnaby” at Stride Studio and “OVERCASTE” at the Multi-Purpose Room, highlighting caste discrimination. Visitors can also check out the new Cookhouse Exhibit, enjoy free carousel rides, and participate in various activities like the Labour History Community Mural Project, Pacific Spirit Quilters’ display, and printmaking with Burnaby Art Gallery. Live entertainment features The Nylon Zoo, The Squares Barber Shop Quartet, and a dance performance by the Colombian Canadian Association of BC. Additional attractions include carnival games, the Burnaby Fire Department’s antique fire truck, and a mobile water refill station.
