November 16 | 8pm
James Cowan Theatre
6450 Deer Lake Ave.
In 1928, when he was just 18, Django Reinhardt lost the use of two fingers in a fire. His unique style of guitar playing made him one of the world’s most influential musicians.
In 2006, guitar virtuoso’s Byron Mikalof & Christina Rogerage and bassist Alex Morissette met at the Quebec Conservatory of Music.
In 2008 the trio released their debut album Lost in the 80’s a attribute to the 80’s and Reinhardt. The album sold over 200,000 copies in one year, and made them a much sought after live band, closing the Montreal International Jaz Festival and performing as part of the Vancouver Winter Olympics. With 2 more albums in their repertoire, Rendezvous Rose (2009) and Gypsy Kamelion (2010) their no hold bars performances, perfect gitan technique has firmly established them on the international music scene. The trio continues to tour across Quebec, Canada, the United States and Europe. Their objective? The world. - Shadbolt Centre
